After a rewarding career in teaching, I made the decision to transition into a new field that combined my passion for creativity and craftsmanship. As the manager of SEAM upholstery where we specialise in marine, hospitality, and residential seating solutions, I now lead a dedicated team that provides high-quality custom upholstery and canvas work. Drawing on my background in education, I bring a fresh perspective to customer service and project management, ensuring each client receives tailored solutions that exceed expectations. My commitment to excellence continues in this new chapter, where I take pride in sourcing premium fabrics and delivering durable, beautiful designs for our clients and industry professionals alike.

Founder
Originally from the UK, Robert grew up on Spain’s south coast, where his passion for the sea was born through sailing, windsurfing, and kite surfing. Over the years, his career spanned diverse sectors, from working as a deckhand crossing the Indian Ocean to roles in banking across Europe and the Middle East.
In 2017, Robert decided to make a major life change, returning to the sea and the creative craftsmanship he had always enjoyed. This led him to Phuket, where he founded South East Asia Sails. What began as a venture rooted in his love for sailing quickly expanded to include SEAM Upholstery, focusing on delivering bespoke, high-quality marine seating and upholstery solutions. With Robert’s eye for detail and his dedication to superior materials, SEAM Upholstery has grown into a trusted name in the marine industry, offering expertly crafted seating and canvas work designed to withstand the rigors of the sea, while enhancing the comfort and aesthetics of every vessel.
